Chase's Story
Chase’s love for music began to show when he was very young. He loved when his grand-parents would take him to see Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Ballet most years in Denver or Grand Junction. He began to show a passion for composing choral and band music in high school, where he participated in numerous local and state honor choirs and honor bands. During his senior year, with the help of his choir instructor Daryl Gingrich, he was able to have his first piece be premiered. In Darkness was performed in Denver, when he was 18 years old. He now studies music composition at University of Colorado at Boulder under Carter Pann, Michael Theodore, and Nathan Hall. He has since won the 2018 CU Choral Award.
